What is PA + con(PA) about, and where?

چکیده
Abstract Justin Clarke-Doane offers what purports to be a stand-alone argument, relying on Gödel’s second incompleteness theorem, that if we hold PA + Con(PA) and ~ are equally true of their intended subjects, then there is no objective fact as whether consistent. It shown the argument fallacious, although illuminating: The fallaciousness arises from 20 th -century shift in our understanding interpreted languages view—derived experience language—of sentences intrinsically one which sharply distinguishes syntax semantics, treats uninterpreted syntactic forms endowed with interpretations by models. this syntax/semantic distinction, because it “unintuitive” induces fallacies such Clarke-Doane’s exemplifies.

متن کاملTheories very close to PA where Kreisel's Conjecture is false
We give four examples of theories in which Kreisel Conjecture is false: 1) the theory PA(−) obtained by adding a function symbol minus, ’−’, to the language of PA, and the axiom ∀x∀y∀z (x − y = z) ≡ (x = y + z ∨ (x < y ∧ z = 0)); 2) the theory Z of integers; 3) the theory PA(q) obtained by adding a function symbol q (of arity ≥ 1) to PA, assuming nothing about q; 4) the theory PA(N) containing ...

See related article, pages 2221–2227. Despite clear documentation that the “Stroke Belt” has existed for more than 60 years, we know remarkably little regarding the underlying causes.
